So, despite my silence over the past few months, I have been attempting to do art. I have placed aside my books and picked up a notebook off of my pile of gently used notebooks from school/college/was-on-sale-so-I-bought-it pile. I have been sketching/doodling/creating at least an hour a day on work days while sitting on lunch break listening to my beloved iPod which I rediscovered on a cleaning my room venture later in this past summer. I am pleased to say that I have actually felt like I've been progressing on working on people's faces even though I still cannot draw from what I see. I think it's a patience flaw. Not enough patience to get it to look like whom I see. In any case, I am very pleased that I have stuck to it for these several months and have seen this improvement though I have not scanned these "sketch dumps" yet and I may never. However, on my next long vacation from work (December), I intend to draw something and put it up without diving into the Photomanipulation category as I feel that I should be working on my own specific style instead of borrowing people's faces no matter how wonderful some of our stock photos are here on DA.

Well, in other happy news, I think, is that I will probably be getting another kitten this weekend or potentially mid next week. My boyfriend's parents have been adopting strays lately and I was introduced to a little orange stripey cat who will potentially have a white tail tip if/when his fur is finally clean. This little stray apparently has been wandering around the countryside with his mom and sister (the sister has already been adopted by my boyfriend's brother) and decided to find a warm place to hang out. He was apparently covered in mud and other icky things, got cleaned off and fed better than he has probably ever been in his little life, and is currently on medication to take care of a kitty cold from which he is recovering. He's gotten his shots and his tests and should be good to go soon enough. I can't wait. I got to spend about 2 days around him and he loves to play and then nap and then play again. He napped so hard on my lap for 2 hours on the last day that I could pick up his paw and let it drop again, so limp it was! Apparently, since that day, he has decided he likes to nap on people's laps (a fact that my boyfriend's mom doesn't quite appreciate because he is already a needy little kitty), but as my current cat, Hermes, is far from a lap cat though sweet, adorable, and with a great personality, I have decided that I would like a more dependent cat (of course then they'll grow up and hide in corners like cats normally tend to do) for a while. So his name is Apollo and I will become a cat paparazzi soon and put his picture up. I only hope that it won't take too long for Hermes and Apollo to get along.
